HID pivCLASS RK40 Readers
The HID pivCLASS RK40 Reader is intended for use in various high security environments, and it can be used for a phased transition from older technology to newer technologies so cards can be replaced over time.
This product is in compliance with FIPS 201/FICAM, and allows upgrades on-site without taking out the existing system. To be fully FICAM complaint, the product must be paired with the M2000 pivCLASS Authentication Module for single factor authentication. Adding a contact reader sidecar that supports CHUID + VIS makes the RK40 a two-factor reader, and with the addition of a biometric read sidecar, one can attain three-factor strong authentication.
A wide range of protocols are supported: iCLASS SE, MIFARE DESFire EV1, MIFARE Classic, CIV, CAC, TWIC, FRAQ, PIV-I, among others. Notably, 125 kHz Prox is not supported for this see the pivCLASS RPK40.
The RK40 is FCC certified and made of UL94 Polycarbonate. The mount is sized to mount on a single gang switch block. It is black and comes with a 4 by 3 keypad. The overall dimensions are 3.3" x 4.8" x 1.1". The pigtail options weighs 9 oz. and the terminal strip just 7.9 oz. It operates at +12VDC. On standby, it draws just 85mA, at maximum average: 125mA, and 220mA at peak. This unit can operate a wide range of temperatures from -30 to 150 degrees F. The pivCLASS RK40 is warranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for life.
