The Fargo HDP6600 ID Card Printer uses retransfer technology and 600 dpi printing to deliver cards with exceptionally high image quality. The HDP6600 is also fast - both in terms of time-to-print and print speed. Its iON technology provides "instant on" capability allowing the printer to be ready to print cards in less than 60 seconds (some lamination products can take up to five minutes to heat-up). This HDP66000 badge printer is capable of printing 230 cards per hour single-sided and 126 cards per hour dual-sided.
The HDP6600 allows you to configure the laminator for one or two-material use. If you want to use one laminate material for either the front or both sides of a card, you can chooose the one material option; however, if you want use one laminate for the front and a different laminate for the back, you can use the two-material option. For example, you can use a holographic laminate on the front of a card for added security and then use a half-patch laminate on the back of the card to protect elements like a barcode while leaving the magnetic stripe or smart card areas exposed.
One of the key features of the HDP6600 is its modular design which allows you to add features as you need. You can start with a base model that has single-sided printing and then add dual-sided printing, magnetic and/or smart card encoding and lamination modules. For greater capacity, you can add a dual-card input hopper that allows you to manage multiple card types as well as higher card volumes.
